Holograph: Former contractor maliciously issued 1 billion HLG, of which at least 200 million have been frozen

ChainCatcher news, the cross-chain NFT protocol Holograph has released an update regarding a recent security incident, stating that a former contractor exploited a vulnerability to mint an additional 1 billion HLG tokens on Mantle, resulting in the protocol being temporarily locked.

The team is developing strategies to mitigate the impact of this vulnerability and is collaborating with security experts to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The attacker’s exchange accounts on Bybit, Gate, KuCoin, Bitget, and Backpack have been frozen, with at least 200 million of the additionally minted HLG tokens also frozen.

Meanwhile, the relevant trading platforms have suspended all HLG deposits and withdrawals. The official team will conduct a third-party audit of the protocol and continue to advance the cross-chain tokenization infrastructure and applications.
