The Graph has transitioned to a fully decentralized data layer
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the blockchain data indexing and querying protocol The Graph Foundation has completed the Sunrise program, marking The Graph's transition to a fully decentralized data layer.
Sunrise completed a decentralization plan divided into three phases, where subgraphs upgraded from centralized hosting services to The Graph's global distributed network, which consists of token-incentivized individuals and independent companies acting as data indexers.
It is reported that The Graph introduced subgraph technology in 2018 to index Ethereum, but has now indexed over 55 chains, including Optimism, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, NEAR, and Cosmos.
