Today, UXLINK announced that its registered users have exceeded 10 million, becoming the first product in the Web3 SocialFi category to reach this milestone. Regarding the data, we interviewed the technical leader of the UXLINK community:

1. Most blockchain projects measure by the number of independent wallet addresses. Why does UXLINK propose "registered users" as a metric? What is the difference from the number of independent wallet addresses?

This is mainly to address two issues:

(1) There are too many invalid and fake witch wallet addresses in crypto, which are meaningless and can pollute the data.

(2) We are social; we advocate the concept of "people"/Account, because only people connecting with people counts as social, and one person can have multiple wallets for different purposes.

Therefore, we use the concept of registered users for measurement. Registered users must pass three criteria:

(1) 100% invitation relationship, entering through Link-to-Earn. New users must be invited by acquaintances or partners from the UXLINK network and register with an invitation code.

(2) Human-machine interaction is required to prove they are not a BOT.

(3) Use UXLINK's products.

Those who meet the above standards are counted as registered users, so the number of registered users is less than the number of independent wallet addresses. Currently, UXLINK's registered users have surpassed 10 million, with the number of connected authorized wallet addresses at 15 million. Each user can have multiple wallets.

Does every user have a wallet? Yes, if a user comes from web2 and does not have a wallet, we will provide an MPC wallet. Even if this wallet temporarily has no assets, if this user contributes to the community, they are still a good user. Achieving social mass adoption is our mission and work. It can also be said that 100% of the UXLINK network consists of WEB3 users.

Is every wallet a user? Not necessarily. We will use social verification, diverse tasks, access verification, third-party reputation systems, etc., to prevent witch accounts, keeping tens of millions of invalid and fake witch wallet addresses out. Of course, we cannot block all of them to avoid mistakenly affecting real users.

Does every user have a social account? Not necessarily. We still fully respect user privacy; some users only have wallets or enter through social accounts and later cancel their social accounts, and we will still provide good service.

2. What is the concept of UXUY Holders? Is it the number of our Token holders?

First, UXUY is a type of on-chain POW points for UXLINK, used to record and incentivize community user growth and interaction, and it is non-transferable. UXUY is entirely produced through the LINK2EARN formula, with no reservations or pre-minting, all coming from community users' POW "mining." The keywords are POW, on-chain, and non-transferable.

UXUY Holders must meet three criteria:

  1. Wallet of registered users.

  2. Contribute to community-defined POW behaviors and earn UXUY.

  3. On-chain claim of UXUY. That is, if there is no claim, they do not count as UXUY holders.

Therefore, UXUY holders are all community contributors and WEB3 users, and they are potential governance token holders. Currently, the number of UXUY holders is 5 million.

Will the number of UXUY Holders increase? Yes, as long as there is community contribution, it will increase until it exceeds 30 million registered users, and UXUY will stop being mined. At that time, we believe a very positive network effect will have formed.

Will the number of UXUY Holders decrease? Yes, if some holders exchange UXUY for other assets, the number will decrease, such as exchanging for NFTs or governance tokens.

3. How many UXLINK Holders are there? What are the standards?

The measurement standards for NFT Holders have three dimensions: community contribution, on-chain interaction, and the number of wallet address assets.

Before the TGE, our method was: UXUY holders, and after UXUY reaches a certain level, they can exchange UXUY for different levels of NFTs. NFTs serve as airdrop certificates, and before the TGE, based on the level and quantity of NFTs, they will receive $UXLINK. At that time, another witch account prevention process will be conducted.

So, simply put, before the TGE: NFT holders = TOKEN holders.

After the TGE, the number of holders will include all legitimate and reasonable UXLINK holders, including purchases, continued community contributions, etc.

Currently, we have 1.6 million holders, and this number will increase or decrease with the release of liquidity.

4. In the face of such a large number of registered users and holders, will we conduct witch account prevention?

We definitely will. Witch accounts are indeed very common in WEB3, and the main purpose of witch account prevention is to ensure the interests of real, quality users in the community. We will do this in three steps:

First step: Determine whether it is a false request based on human-machine or access compliance verification. We will directly block it outside the system, counting neither as registered users nor generating UXUY from LINK-TO-EARN. This step can block most, but it cannot be too strict, or it will mistakenly affect real users.

Second step: Once they enter the UXLINK network and generate UXUY, we will further remove based on community contribution and activity level. For example, if there has been no activity for 6 months or no successful claim of UXUY, the unchained UXUY will be reclaimed and cycled back into the community to incentivize quality users. This is a redistribution process, ensuring that only users who truly bring value to the community will receive incentives.

Third step: Before the TGE, the community will conduct another round of witch account prevention, with methods announced by the community. The reclaimed UXUY will again enter the community to incentivize quality users.

Through these three steps, we ensure the quality, fairness, and efficiency of the community.

5. We see many media comparing UXLINK with NOTCOIN, saying that UXLINK's on-chain data is better than NOTCOIN. What do you think?

UXLINK and NOTCOIN belong to different fields; one is a social platform and infrastructure, while the other is a game. They do share some commonalities, both having mass adoption as one of their missions and both possessing a large user base. From my perspective, NOTCOIN has a larger overall user base, while UXLINK has higher on-chain data and user stickiness. For example, the on-chain daily active users, monthly active users, and the ratios of daily/weekly and weekly/monthly active users are all higher than NOT. The proportion of on-chain monthly active users to total registered users exceeds 50%; the number of UXLINK holders is also much higher than that of NOT before the TGE.

I believe this is mainly due to three reasons:

(1) User interaction in social products is much deeper than in game products. Users participate in social interactions such as SBT/SocialGraph, groups, invitations, and learning check-ins, as well as asset-related interactions like SWAP, Airdrop, and Pre-Market; while NOTCOIN's interactions are relatively pure, Tap-to-Earn, and comparatively shallow. The depth of interaction is determined by the track, not by good or bad;

(2) User stickiness is related to social relationships and groups. Real-world social relationships and our over 100,000 groups bring trust and higher user retention.

(3) Overall, it is also related to the UXLINK registered user screening mentioned above. After three rounds of witch account prevention, although the total registered users may seem smaller, the quality has improved.

Both UXLINK and NOTCOIN are excellent products and indeed provide an effective paradigm for transitioning from web2 to web3 and from off-chain to on-chain. We need to learn from NOTCOIN in many aspects and look forward to collaborating with NOTCOIN.

Returning to our essence, it is about establishing trust through familiar social relationships while serving users as a social platform and providing infrastructure for developers. In the future, we will work with ecological partners to establish a socialized layer for asset generation, flow, and distribution, allowing users to trust, safely, and simply use various applications without needing to perform complex cross-chain interactions, and to gain benefits through their social assets; enabling developers to fully utilize our protocols, social relationships, and data, greatly enhancing development efficiency and growth quality.
