Taiko: The high protocol fees are due to additional delegation call costs, which will improve within 40-60 days
ChainCatcher message, in response to community feedback that the Taiko protocol is more expensive than other L2 networks, Taiko stated that the Taiko Rollup protocol involves more logic and storage, utilizing several upgradable proxies, which increases the additional delegation call costs. Furthermore, Taiko blocks are not proposed or proven in batches. Proposers interact with Ethereum more frequently to compete for block space and ensure on-chain activity. The on-chain ring buffer has also not been exhausted yet, which makes the storage write costs higher; this situation is expected to improve in about 40 to 60 days.
