In-depth Analysis: Comparison of Blue-chip NFT Project Roadmaps and Current Status

Which NFT projects have actually fulfilled their original roadmaps? I reviewed the information and came to the following conclusions:
BAYC, Score: 9/10
The team has achieved most of its initial goals: exclusive merchandise, an interactive club website, and Mutant Apes.
Until early 2021, their commitments were quite straightforward.
Pudgy Penguins, Score: 7/10
Before Luca Netz and the new team took over, Cole's team had released several roadmap projects, including merchandise, airdrops, and charity auctions.

Looking back now, some of these were fulfilled before the new team took over.
They launched the first batch of merchandise, which, although not exclusive to holders, was at least completed. This merchandise included mugs, hoodies, T-shirts, and stickers. The airdrops and charity auctions at that time were limited and cannot be considered fulfilled.

Azuki, Score: 7/10
Azuki chose to replace the roadmap with a "mind map."
Initially, they announced:
3D experiences for holders.
Exclusive streetwear, including skateboards and toys.
Real-life events.
Connecting the physical and digital worlds.
$BEAN tokens and DAO.
Looking back, some of these have become a reality.
Azuki has launched exclusive merchandise multiple times and is known for its IRL (in real life) events. They have also innovatively achieved the fusion of digital and physical through PBT.
However, the 3D avatars and $BEAN have not been delivered.

Doodles, Score: 10/10
Doodles has completed its initial roadmap. Here is an old image I found:
Shortly after minting, they purchased their main mascot for 100 ETH.
They have added ETH to the treasury.
They acquired the Golden Wolf studio.
They have established partnerships with many major brands.
Degods, Score: 6/10
I found a Google document from a long time ago where Frank (?) discussed the pros and cons of certain roadmap ideas. These included: DePalace, Merch, DeGods Welcome, DeOath.
It reads quite interestingly:
Exclusive merchandise and "DeGods Welcome" (at least in terms of strong social presence) have actually been realized. Other ideas were abandoned.
A previous Notion page recorded some of this:
Moonbirds, Score: 4/10
Moonbirds was marketed as a "utility" PFP, with holders having commercial rights. However, this promise vanished after their notorious shift to the CC0 license.
Moreover, since the roadmap was released, Moonbirds' direction has changed significantly:
"Project Highrise" was never launched.
However, Moonbirds did release milestone rewards for staking ("nesting").
CloneX, Score: 9/10
RTFKT has completed most of CloneX's initial roadmap, including 3D files for holders, forging events, and airdrops.
Thoughts on the Results
The actual fulfillment of roadmaps may not align with everyone's expectations.
From the current standpoint, the floor prices of each NFT seem unrelated to the extent of their initial roadmap fulfillment.
BAYC and CloneX had relatively simple initial paths, and they basically delivered on their promises. However, CloneX's floor price has plummeted; while BAYC later attempted to deliver more than what was in the original roadmap: APE tokens, metaverse games, building a new chain, yet still could not stop the decline in floor price.
At the same time, Pudgy Penguins, which did not fulfill many initial commitments, has performed well due to the new team's promotion of the IP, launching children's toys in Walmart, and frequently receiving airdrops.
Some even believe that PFP NFT projects are "the more you do, the more you get wrong," and "art does not need a project team behind it to empower it." For instance, the collaboration to launch a new series of Punk IP and airdrop it to holders of CryptoPunks has been widely criticized by the community—"The project team Yuga Labs ruined CryptoPunks; they can't even do nothing right."
Three years have passed since the NFT boom, which was full of bubbles in 2021. Where will more mature projects and more rational participants lead this space? Let's wait and see.
