HashKey Capital: Plans to communicate with regulators about the feasibility of issuing Ethereum spot ETFs and staking products in Hong Kong
ChainCatcher news, according to Ming Pao, HashKey Capital partner Huang Yongxin stated that they are actively exploring Ethereum spot ETFs and staking directions, hoping to provide more investment methods for retail and institutional investors, and to release capital liquidity.
She mentioned that HashKey Capital will also communicate with regulatory authorities about the feasibility of issuing products in Hong Kong, while preparing to offer the best product solutions.
Additionally, an industry insider indicated that existing technology can support staking, but the main issue lies in regulatory risk control, such as the risks and responsibilities associated with staking interest preservation.
It is reported that Bloomberg previously disclosed that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is considering allowing Ethereum spot ETF staking. After submitting proposals in recent weeks, discussions have been held with relevant ETF issuers about staking through licensed platforms, but no clear timetable has been established. If Ethereum ETF staking is approved, it could drive demand for cryptocurrency ETFs in Hong Kong, once again leading the progress ahead of the United States.
