Former nChain CEO sentenced to 10 months in prison for leaking documents revealing Craig Wright
ChainCatcher news, according to Protos citing What The Finance, former nChain CEO Christen Ager-Hanssen was sentenced to 10 months in prison at a hearing in the UK High Court on May 3 for leaking documents that exposed Craig Wright.
The court found Ager-Hanssen in violation of multiple court orders, including deleting the leaked documents, disclosing recipients, and handing over relevant devices. The leaked documents were the Fairway Brief, which involved Craig Wright's false claims of impersonating Satoshi and accused Calvin Ayre and others of orchestrating a "criminal conspiracy" to take over nChain's intellectual property at a low price.
The court viewed Ager-Hanssen's noncompliance with the orders as an attempt to undermine the authority of the court and nChain's confidentiality requests, thus merging the sentences of 10 months and 4 months, with his expected release in five months. Ager-Hanssen plans to appeal, with support from the UK whistleblower organization Whistleblowers UK, which pointed out the disconnect between UK whistleblower laws and justice, failing to effectively protect whistleblowers.
