Russian media: Telegram will launch an internal currency called Telegram Stars

According to ChainCatcher, the Russian portal Rozetked reports that starting from June 12, Telegram will launch a new internal currency called Telegram Stars, which users can purchase through Apple and Google, and then use it to pay for digital goods and services within Telegram bots/minis.

Many developers have reported receiving notifications regarding the launch of this token, and the Telegram marketing channel has also pointed this out. The report states that Apple has notified Telegram with a warning for violating App Store Review Guidelines 4.7 and 3.1.1, as it accepts customer payments and services without using Apple's in-app purchase mechanism. It is reported that users will be able to purchase Stars through shopping tools in the App Store and Google Play, potentially incurring a 30% service commission. Developers will be able to withdraw the token in TON.
