Federal Reserve report: The number of American adults who own or use cryptocurrency fell to about 18 million last year
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, based on the Federal Reserve's latest annual household survey, the number of American adults who own or use cryptocurrency fell to about 18 million last year.
According to the Federal Reserve's "Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking" (SHED) data released on May 21, 7% of surveyed American adults reported using cryptocurrency in the 12 months ending last October, down from 10% in 2022 and 12% in 2021.
Only 1% of adults reported using cryptocurrency as a payment method or for remittances, a decrease of half compared to 2022, while 7% purchased or held cryptocurrency as an investment.
