Eclipse A round financing lead investor Hack VC: Zero tolerance for sexual harassment or misconduct, fully supports the new CEO
ChainCatcher news, Hack VC, a Web3 venture capital firm that previously led a $50 million Series A funding round for Eclipse, expressed deep concern over the sexual harassment allegations against Eclipse founder Neel Somani. Hack VC itself does not tolerate any form of sexual harassment or misconduct and holds the same high standards for founders and the companies it invests in.
After learning of the news, Hack VC collaborated with other investors and the team to urge Neel Somani to resign and expressed strong belief in the mission of the Eclipse team and project. They fully support Vijay Chetty as the new CEO and believe he is the ideal candidate to drive the project forward.
It is reported that in March this year, Eclipse Labs announced the completion of a $50 million Series A funding round, co-led by Placeholder and Hack VC, with participation from RockTree Capital, Polychain Capital, Delphi Digital, Maven 11, DBA, Apollo-managed funds, Fenbushi Capital, ParaFi Capital, and others.
Previous news reported that Neel Somani, founder of Ethereum's first SVM Layer 2 network Eclipse, has resigned, and Vijay Chetty will be appointed as the CEO of Eclipse Labs, moving up from Chief Growth Officer and taking on all responsibilities of the CEO.
Previous news on May 10 stated that Eclipse CEO Neel Somani announced he would "temporarily step back" from his responsibilities for the Ethereum Layer 2 solution due to sexual harassment allegations. Despite multiple allegations regarding his misconduct, Somani insisted on his innocence in a post.
