Hong Kong police arrested 8 suspects for laundering 88 million Hong Kong dollars through virtual currency
ChainCatcher news, according to the Sing Tao Daily, a cross-border money laundering group has been operating since last year, manipulating mainland individuals to open bank proxy accounts in Hong Kong for the group to launder over 88 million Hong Kong dollars, some of which are related to 48 fraud cases. The police arrested 7 men and 1 woman yesterday (13th) on suspicion of conspiracy to commit money laundering, among whom 6 are core members of the group.
