zkSync Developers: The Sepolia testnet is expected to be fully restored in a few hours
ChainCatcher news, zkSync Developers posted on social media that the zkSync Era Sepolia testnet is expected to fully recover in the next few hours. The v24 mainnet upgrade will be postponed until later next week to give the team more time to assess the stability of the testnet. A precise release date will be provided when the team is confident in its stability.
zkSync Developers stated that there were two issues affecting the testnet (which have now been resolved): First, due to instability in the eth_sender service (responsible for submitting transactions to the L1 zkSync smart contract), there were no L1 submission blocks for about 1 day. This was caused by the gas market on Sepolia being very different due to Blob pricing. Second, there were no proofs submitted for more than two days, leading to withdrawal delays. This was caused by logical differences between the VM inside the circuit (used for generating proofs) and the VM outside the circuit (server-side VM that executes immediately when submitting transactions).
