The Seoul Prosecutor's Office in South Korea has recovered and seized 7.6 billion won worth of Ethereum

ChainCatcher news, the Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Eastern District Prosecutor's Office in Seoul, South Korea, stated that it has recovered a deleted electronic wallet belonging to a defendant in a fraud case and seized Ethereum worth 7.6 billion won (approximately 5.6 million USD).

The prosecution claims that a programmer, Mr. A, is accused of defrauding 156 victims between January and February 2019, claiming that the tokens he developed were about to be listed on exchanges, thereby stealing 14.6 billion won (approximately 14.6 million USD) in investment funds from the 156 victims. In June of the same year, Mr. A was also accused of transferring 1,796 Ethereum to his personal crypto wallet, which was purchased by the gaming platform company he worked for to operate a cryptocurrency exchange.
