The U.S. Probation Office recommends a five-month probation for Zhao Changpeng
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, court documents show that despite the Department of Justice's request for a 36-month prison sentence and a $50 million fine for Zhao Changpeng, the probation office recommended a five-month probation in its statement report. Meanwhile, the defense requested house arrest and probation, with no prison time.
Analyst Tama Kudman, a partner at Kudman Trachten Aloe Posner LLP, stated that the Department of Justice's request for an extended sentence seems to send a strong message. The U.S. Department of Justice has been working hard to combat money laundering activities conducted through cryptocurrency, and Zhao Changpeng has been "very openly against anti-money laundering rules."
