Ki Young Ju: South Korea leads the world in cryptocurrency trading volume, yet it is one of the countries with the worst Web3 startup environment
ChainCatcher message, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju quoted Bloomberg on social media, stating that South Korea leads the world in cryptocurrency trading volume but is one of the worst countries for the Web3 startup environment. It's as if more stocks from other countries are listed on the Korea Stock Exchange, while the trading volume of Korean ants leads the U.S. stock market. The biggest issue lies in the regulators' lack of understanding and a conservative attitude that stifles innovation.
Bloomberg previously reported that the trading volume of South Korean exchange Upbit accounts for over 80% of the country's trading volume, making it one of the top five exchanges in the world by trading volume.
