PayPal partners with EnergyWeb to launch an incentive program encouraging Bitcoin miners to use clean energy
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, PayPal is providing incentives for Bitcoin miners to take measures to reduce their operational impact on the environment.
On Monday, PayPal stated in a blog post that its blockchain research team has partnered with the nonprofit organization EnergyWeb to develop a clean energy verification platform to monitor and reward energy-efficient Bitcoin mining operations. Critics say that the development of this solution comes at a time when Bitcoin production is putting significant pressure on local power grids and taxpayers in the United States.
