Recently, software development company 2048k announced a collaboration with Leaf Labs (a Colombian company) to jointly establish a legal framework for building a groundbreaking RWA project on AO—Harvest.

What is the Harvest project?

🗨️ RWA (Real World Asset) refers to the tokenization of real-world assets and their introduction into the blockchain space, such as real estate, art, cars, bonds, and any asset that has storage value and can be tokenized. This approach allows for the storage and transfer of assets without relying on centralized intermediaries, enabling their value to be mapped onto the blockchain for trading and circulation, while also providing users with more asset choices and sources of income.

Harvest is an RWA project built on AO and claims to be the first tokenized natural resource market. Unlike common bond-type RWA projects, Harvest has land and livestock assets valued at over $1.5 million and is in the process of introducing a robust legal framework to set new standards for the secure and transparent trading of its digital assets.

For Harvest, tokenizing assets such as land and livestock grants ownership of the assets to the buyers, who can also earn income from them. Here is an example provided by Harvest:

Suppose a cow generates approximately $1,000 in profit each year. A rancher decides to tokenize 50% of the commodity value of this cow, offering it to investors at a price of $1,000 for a term of three years. In this case, the investor purchasing this token will effectively own half of the economic value of the cow, giving them the right to receive $500 in income each year during the contract period.

From this simple example, it can be seen that an investor with an initial investment of $1,000 is expected to receive a total return of $1,500 after three years, resulting in a profit of $500.

The Perfect Match of Harvest and Arweave AO

2048k and Leaf Lab recognized the powerful capabilities of Arweave and AO, which is why they built the Harvest project on AO. Specifically, Arweave not only allows for the permanent storage of all data, ensuring the data transparency and traceability that RWA projects prioritize, but it also significantly reduces interaction costs. Additionally, being built on AO provides strong scalability and the ability to communicate with any AO application.

Harvest is set to launch its mobile application soon, with the team hinting at a possible release by the end of April. Users eager to get a glimpse can join the Waiting List: https://goharvest.app/.

The Harvest team is diligently working and plans to implement compliance in the second quarter of this year, delivering a compliant RWA project for users within the AO ecosystem.
