The Bitcoin Layer 2 Hong Kong Summit has successfully concluded! Exchange and sharing of innovative thinking between the East and the West

On April 8, Hong Kong time, the world's first summit focusing on the cutting-edge development and technology discussion of Bitcoin Layer 2 - "Bitcoin Layer 2 Conference Hong Kong 2024 - East & West" successfully concluded at the Hong Kong Science Park's Ko Kwan Conference Center.

This pioneering offline event aimed to build a communication bridge between global core builders and emerging forces in the Bitcoin ecosystem through the "East & West Dialogue" format. As one of the key thematic summits of the "2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival," this summit invited over 60 innovative thinkers from the East and West Bitcoin ecosystem to participate; it also attracted 600+ developers and enthusiasts focused on Bitcoin Layer 2, as well as over 100 capital parties, project parties, security institutions, technical communities, media, and surrounding resources from around the world. The summit was initiated by the Bitcoin ecosystem security research institution BTC Security Lab, with the first fully decentralized EVM-compatible Bitcoin Layer 2 network BEVM as the title sponsor. Keynote 1

In the opening speech, ScaleBit co-founder Paul Li warmly welcomed all attendees and provided a comprehensive overview of the highlights and vision of the summit, officially kicking off the Bitcoin Layer 2 Hong Kong Summit. Trust Machines Product and Operations VP Rena Shah focused on "Bringing Bitcoin to a Billion People with Bitcoin L2s," discussing the technical dimensions and layout of Bitcoin Layer 2, highlighting the progress of Ordinals and Stacks.

Babylon co-founder and CTO Fisher Yu shared a technical presentation on "Bitcoin Staking for L2s," covering Bitcoin Layer 2, Bitcoin Staking, and BTC PoW, summarizing that Babylon is a suite of protocols bringing BTC security, users, and liquidity to Layer 2.

ScaleBit blockchain researcher Zorrot Chen discussed "We Choose the Hard Way: Developing in the Bitcoin Ecosystem," exploring the current state of Bitcoin ecosystem developers and the changes after the Taproot upgrade, proposing the open-source repository Tapscript Lib.

BitReXe founder and chief architect Brendon Wann presented on "Parallel Smart Contract Layer on Bitcoin: Drawing Lessons from Ethereum," introducing two key points of BitReXe: Deterministic Parallelization and First-Class Assets, using scalability as a starting point.
