The SEC prohibits employees from using work phones to access third-party instant messaging applications
ChainCatcher News, the U.S. SEC has prohibited employees from accessing third-party instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp, SMS text messages, and iMessage on work phones to reduce the risk of system breaches and enhance record-keeping. It is reported that the ban on accessing these applications began last September and has been ongoing for the past few months.
Informed sources revealed that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is considering whether to follow the SEC's lead. A CFTC spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment from reporters. (Bloomberg)
