On the afternoon of April 9, the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival concluded successfully with a closing speech by Wanxiang Blockchain Chairman and HashKey Group Chairman and CEO Xiao Feng. The four-day event showcased the vibrant development of the Web3 industry and witnessed countless important turning points in Web3 development.

The 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival was jointly hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Laboratory and HashKey Group, W3 ME, a globally recognized barometer of the Web3 industry. This year's carnival adopted a 1+3+1 format, setting up 1 main venue, 3 sub-venues, and 1 Open Stage area within nearly 9,000 square meters, presenting a series of insightful speeches, quotable roundtable discussions, passionate esports competitions, and youthful stage performances over four consecutive days…

The 1995 Moment of Blockchain Applications is Approaching

On April 6, Lu Weiding, a representative of the National People's Congress, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman and CEO of Wanxiang Group, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival: "The 1995 moment of blockchain applications is approaching, and the next few years will be the best time for Hong Kong's economic development." Thus, the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival was officially launched.

Numerous heavyweight guests from around the world outlined the future of Web3 with sharp insights in the 5 venues of the Web3 Carnival: In the future Hong Kong, there may be more industry participants driving the development of the Hong Kong Web3 industry, even enabling ETF trading in tokens; future crypto assets may witness one new height after another for Bitcoin; and the future Web3 industry may attract more Web2 users, achieving true large-scale adoption of Web3…

It is worth mentioning that the Future3 Campus Phase III incubation camp—Future3 Camp3, jointly initiated by Wanxiang Blockchain Laboratory and HashKey Capital, with exclusive technical support from Amazon Web Services, officially announced 9 participating teams at the "AI + Web3" themed forum in Sub-venue 2. As Xiao Feng, Chairman of Wanxiang Blockchain and HashKey Group, stated: "Blockchain is a network that can be collaboratively operated by strangers on a large scale, which can be used to address the talent demand for large models in Hong Kong, allowing talents from around the world to contribute to Hong Kong's large models." It is believed that in the near future, generation after generation of Web3 + AI innovative projects will bring new momentum for development to Hong Kong and even the world.

A Tall Building Rises from the Ground

From Layer 1, Layer 2, to the spring and summer of DePIN, and then to the broad road paved by Web3 infrastructure for future development and large-scale applications, April 7's theme in the 5 venues was a microcosm of the future development of Web3, showcasing the gradual transformation of Web3 in various aspects.

April 8 was the most unique day of the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival, with the entire venue showcasing a colorful Web3 presented by Side Event partners such as ABGA, Aptos, Filecoin Foundation, GoPlus, Hashkey Exchange, SlowMist, and TON Foundation (arranged in alphabetical order). They enriched the Web3 Carnival and created more possibilities for the entire Web3 industry.

April 9 marked the conclusion of the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival and the time tunnel leading to a new era of Web3; it was a bittersweet farewell after a joyful gathering and also the first day of putting passionate ideas into action. On this day, there were thematic activities hosted by Side Event partners such as Animoca Brands & Chromia, DRK Labs, and UOVABOX, as well as exciting thematic forums brought by the organizers and co-organizers. From the Bitcoin ecosystem to Tokenization and Restaking, blockchain, starting from its financial attributes, breaks through numerous limitations and refocuses on the financial sector with higher performance, creating a new generation of financial technology.

This carnival was not only a platform to showcase the latest achievements in Web3 but also a bridge connecting the world and building the future together.
