ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Solana validators have passed a proposal aimed at reducing consensus "voting" delays and accelerating on-chain transaction speeds.

It is reported that the proposal calls for the implementation of a "timely voting points" mechanism on Solana, which was approved on April 9 with 98% of the votes in favor.

Additionally, this will change the mechanism by which validators "vote" to confirm transactions. The proposal was put forward by the Solana validator Shinobi Systems' "zantetsu," and will implement a variable number of voting points, providing more points for votes with lower delays. Solana Labs stated that this will prevent intentional "delays," as delayed votes will reduce the number of points that can be earned from that vote.
