ChainCatcher news, according to DL News, Google recently filed a lawsuit in a federal court in New York against two Chinese software developers, accusing them of creating fake cryptocurrency applications and leading over 100,000 people to download them, implementing a "pig butchering" scam.

Google accuses Yunfeng Sun from Shenzhen and Hongnam Cheung from Hong Kong of creating at least 87 such applications since 2019. Some of these are typical "pig butchering" scams, where criminals communicate with victims through messaging apps, gain their trust, and then persuade them to invest in fake projects.

It is reported that the fake applications include fraudulent cryptocurrency trading platforms named TionRT and SkypeWallet, which were removed after user complaints and Google's investigation.
