Parallel is a sci-fi collectible card battle game and one of the leading games in the cryptocurrency space, as well as its flagship game. The highly anticipated second game in the Echelon Prime game ecosystem is also on the way: Parallel Colony.

These AI avatars are powered by large language model (LLM) technology and will act as semi-autonomous AI agents, operating according to general player instructions rather than direct control.

Why This Matters: The AI setup in Colony will allow avatars to retain memories, learn from experiences, and influence each other through dialogue. Sometimes, avatars may even disregard human players' suggestions based on their unique personalities and experiences accumulated over time. Thus, Colony is the first game to fully explore the intersection of generative AI and blockchain gaming.

Currency Machines: Each currency machine is tied to a dedicated Solana wallet, and the colony avatars will conduct their own trades around purchasing and crafting resources, creating a dynamic in-game economy. Commerce and warfare will lead to shifts in trends and resource transfers, with the colony that accumulates the most wealth at any given time becoming a larger target for trade and war.

Avatar Expansion: While there will be a free mode, the main gameplay will involve players paying with Parallel's native currency, PRIME, to create colony avatars. Initially, the creation process will require holding a Parallel avatar NFT on Ethereum, but eventually, a Parallel universal avatar series involving breeding mechanics may be introduced on Solana. This update will make the game more accessible and expand the number of avatars, far exceeding the existing 11,000 unique NFTs.

What’s Next: The core gameplay of Colony includes completing missions to enhance the skills of avatars and the overall wealth of the colony. As colonies thrive, they can establish defenses against impending attacks or launch assaults on neighboring colonies. A typical gameplay process begins with players consulting their avatars and deciding on goals to pursue, from accumulating valuable items to running for political positions, after which their avatars will start pursuing those goals. Like most Parallel games, Colony players can also earn PRIME rewards through in-game achievements.

The Rise of Wayfinder

AI On-Chain Mapping: Wayfinder is built on Solana and supports the AI gameplay of Parallel Colony. It is a new protocol designed to bring the power of AI agents on-chain. In short, the system allows AI agents (referred to as "Shells") to navigate, execute transactions, and interact with decentralized applications in a blockchain environment.

Essentially, Wayfinder acts as a map and toolkit for AI agents as they move on the blockchain. Just as you might use a map app on your phone to find the best route to a new restaurant, Wayfinder provides AI agents with "pathfinding routes." These routes are a set of instructions that help agents find ways to achieve specific on-chain goals, such as trading on decentralized exchanges or minting NFTs.

Full-Chain Tools: While Solana will be the home base for Wayfinder, its architecture and development of "pathfinding routes" enable it to work seamlessly across a wide range of blockchains. The protocol will initially support the most popular chains, such as Ethereum, Solana, and Base, but more networks are expected to be added over time through governance.

A New AI Token: The Wayfinder white paper proposes PROMPT as the utility and governance token within the Wayfinder ecosystem. Its roles are multifaceted, including facilitating governance, paying for the creation of AI agents, and covering Gas fees for transactions around the Wayfinder ecosystem. New pathfinding routes can also be proposed by staking PROMPT, with stakers earning a portion of the transaction fees generated when their routes are used.

PROMPT Distribution: The maximum supply of PROMPT is set at 1 billion. Once the distribution strategy is formally approved, tokens will be allocated to various stakeholders, including the Wayfinder Foundation, developers, and users. Notably, 40% of all PROMPT tokens will be distributed as rewards over three years to those who "cache" or stake their PRIME in Wayfinder. Therefore, Parallel Colony will not only become a powerful new deflationary pool for the PRIME token but will also undoubtedly drive up the demand for PRIME in the foreseeable future.

A Grand Vision: Wayfinder was created to support Parallel Colony, but its infrastructure will be open for various different use cases in both gaming and non-gaming environments. Personally, it’s hard to express how optimistic I am about the Parallel ecosystem, with Parallel Colony being a huge cornerstone in this ecosystem. I am indeed a passionate gamer of all types, and in terms of the intersection of AI and gaming, Colony represents a new frontier. Count me in; I love the prospects being explored here!

Beyond just being exciting, I believe Colony is designed very wisely to yield fruitful results for gamers and the broader Parallel ecosystem. If all goes well, this is one of the largest ongoing gaming experiments, not just in crypto but in all gaming, and you should track it accordingly. That’s the bottom line.

As a PRIME holder, one of the reasons I love Colony from a narrative perspective is how it now exposes the Parallel ecosystem to all the dominant chains in the crypto economy.
