The US and UK have jointly sanctioned Gaza Now, which assisted Hamas in obtaining cryptocurrency donations
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the online media channel Gaza Now, which supports Hamas, has been jointly sanctioned by the United States and the United Kingdom for assisting Hamas in publicly fundraising after the attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
Blockchain analysis company Elliptic found that Gaza Now received $21,000 in cryptocurrency donations within weeks of the attack. According to a new report from TRM Labs, the scale of cryptocurrency fundraising by Hamas and other terrorist organizations (including ISIS) is often small, with most donations being below $500.
