Nigeria intensifies investigation into Binance, court orders Binance to disclose all user data of Nigerian users

ChainCatcher news, according to CryptoSlate, Nigerian authorities have intensified their investigation into Binance, with the Federal High Court ordering Binance to provide detailed information on all Nigerian users to the country's most important anti-corruption agency—the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It remains unclear whether Binance will comply with the Nigerian authorities' request. As of the time of publication, Binance has not responded to further comment requests from CryptoSlate.

Earlier reports from the Financial Times indicated that after the detention of Binance's compliance officer Tigran Gambaryan and Africa regional manager Nadeem Anjarwalla in Nigeria, the country requested Binance to provide information regarding its top 100 users in the country and all transaction history from the past six months. Additionally, the Nigerian SEC proposed a 400% increase in registration fees for cryptocurrency companies.
