As the cryptocurrency bull market begins, various airdrop activities are in full swing. This article will introduce 12 game token airdrop projects worth paying attention to in March, which may help the community prepare.
1. Saga Protocol
Saga is a blockchain network designed specifically for gaming, where users can earn airdrop shares by participating in games. After several games running "play-to-airdrop" activities on the testnet and other networks, the SAGA token airdrop claim started on March 6, with nearly 200,000 wallets eligible to participate. The networks covered include Avalanche, Cosmos, Celestia, and Polygon. Subsequently, Saga Protocol also opened airdrop token eligibility to some NFT communities, including holders of "Bored Apes" BAYC and CryptoPunks.
Currently, eligible users can claim tokens, but it is worth noting that the Saga mainnet has not yet launched, and there has been no token generation event (TGE). However, insiders have revealed that the TGE is expected to start soon. Additionally, Saga released a mainnet teaser for the Game Developers Conference on March 19, and it is worth watching whether the mainnet launch will be announced on the same day.
2. Notcoin
Notcoin is a Telegram ecosystem gaming project, reportedly with over 26 million players, and hopes to acquire the upcoming Notcoin through this participation method. It is important to note that, at least at the time of writing this article, Notcoin may not yet be a true cryptocurrency, although the project announced plans to launch token minting on TON in the coming weeks and distribute tokens based on the number of virtual points players earn in the game. It should be noted that Notcoin is currently clearing zombie accounts that have not been used for 30 days at a rate of 5% per day; once cleared, those accounts may not be able to participate in future airdrop activities.
On March 7, to help the community understand the potential value of the token, Notcoin launched pre-trading for the token, reportedly trading an NFT voucher that can be exchanged for NOT tokens in the future.
3. BlockGames
The BlockGames gaming platform is similar to Portal but is mobile-centric. The project is also actively promoting airdrop farming activities. Users can earn BLOCK token rewards by sharing and interacting with BlockGames content on the X platform. Currently, BlockGames' SocialFi activities are ongoing, but the timeline for its token generation activities has not been disclosed.
4. Nifty Island
Nifty Island launched its open beta back in January this year and is a game similar to Sandbox, incorporating creative styles from Roblox and Fortnite. The Nifty Island airdrop activity has already begun to incentivize community users to acquire ISLAND tokens. According to the airdrop rules published on its official social media accounts, users will be rewarded points based on their gaming time, the number of players they refer, and the relevant NFT assets they hold in their connected wallets. The timing of the token airdrop is still unclear, but many players have already flocked in to obtain potential shares of the upcoming ISLAND token release.
5. Nyan Heroes
The hero shooter game "Nyan Heroes" on the Solana chain will conduct a closed beta test from March 26 to April 9 through the PC Epic Games Store, and the airdrop activities surrounding the game are already underway. This game is somewhat similar to "Overwatch," and currently offers users "MEOW" points, which will ultimately be converted into NYAN tokens for eligible early players. It is reported that owners of Nyan Heroes NFTs may qualify for larger token rewards.
6. Upland
Upland is a virtual universe game where players need to purchase metaverse properties or participate in games based on real-world designated locations. This week, the game announced the launch of Sparklet tokens and the first wave of the "Share and Build" airdrop activity, aimed at rewarding community members and newcomers who participated in the Upland platform before its Ethereum launch. Users can earn Sparklet tokens through social media activities and in-app tasks over three weeks, with the token TGE occurring after the airdrop activity, allowing users to convert Sparklet in the game into tradable Ethereum tokens.
7. Apeiron
Apeiron is another game running on the Ronin blockchain, aside from Pixels. The project launched an airdrop activity in January this year and provided reward points for players participating in the Epic Games Store, which can be exchanged for game tokens in the future. In early March, Apeiron announced the launch of APRS tokens, with community sales held from March 12 to 15. According to the tokenomics, the total supply of APRS is 1 billion tokens, with 20% unlocked at TGE and a 2-month lock-up period, followed by a linear release of the remaining 80% over 18 months.
8. BloodLoop
BloodLoop is a 5v5 hero shooter game running on the Avalanche blockchain, which launched its first airdrop activity on March 4. Over the next three months, players can earn BLS token rewards by participating in and testing the game. According to BloodLoop's official Twitter, the BLS token rewards will reach "millions," but the specific number has not been disclosed, and players must complete tasks on the so-called "battle pass" to unlock airdrop eligibility.
9. Shuffle
Shuffle is a crypto gambling GameFi platform that completed $2.5 million in funding in February. According to its announced SHFL token distribution plan, the total supply is 1 billion tokens, with an initial supply of 71,126,984.56 SHFL. The project launched an LBP public offering on March 11, and tokens purchased during this period will be unlocked immediately, without any vesting period restrictions. This week, SHFL Airdrop 1 has opened for claims, and users can log into their Shuffle accounts to claim the first round of airdrop tokens. It is reported that there will be three rounds of SHFL airdrops, accounting for 28% of the total token supply.
10. Earn Alliance
Earn Alliance is a crypto gaming exploration platform that primarily guides Steam, Epic Games Store, and other Web2 players to participate in crypto games. Currently, the platform's long-term airdrop activity is nearing its end. Earn Alliance collects gaming player data to recommend suitable Web3 games, and its platform will provide "care packages" to players who allow data collection. In the future, these care packages can be exchanged for its ALLY tokens, with the expected opening time for care packages being March 28.
11. AI Arena
AI Arena announced the NRN tokenomics in January this year, with 80 million tokens in Season 1 to be distributed to the AI Arena community through airdrops (accounting for 8% of the total supply of 1 billion tokens). Among these, 40 million tokens are for the upcoming P2A competition, and 40 million tokens are for NRN reward boxes. It is reported that the airdrop activity will end in March.
12. WUFFI
In January this year, the WAX blockchain officially announced an upcoming airdrop for a game meme coin called "WUF," which is the native token of the pet-raising game WUFFI. It is reported that WUFFI conducted a snapshot for eligible holders on January 31, but the actual airdrop time has not yet been confirmed.
At the beginning of March, WUFFI's official announcement stated that it would be launching on the Solana blockchain, and on March 28, a snapshot was taken for BONK holders. According to its previously disclosed tokenomics, 30% of the total supply will be used for community airdrops, and 20% will be allocated to early contributors.
