Manta Co-founder: Only a few Ethereum L2s will survive in the next 5 years
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Manta Pacific co-founder Kenny Li stated that among the currently active 44 Ethereum Layer 2 blockchains, only a few will survive in the next 5 years. Li believes that the surge of new Layer 2 solutions on the Ethereum network is repeating the past "forking" issues seen in Bitcoin and Ethereum networks. In Li's view, the core problem with all "forks" of Bitcoin and Ethereum is that they are built as wholes, meaning they cannot quickly integrate and adopt new technologies that emerge over time.
However, Austin Federa, strategic director of the Solana Foundation, referred to the debate around modularity versus monolithic as a marketing gimmick. "Celestia created the distinction between modularity and monolithic. This is not a natural distinction, nor is there anything organic about it."
