Lens: A new proposal for unified sharing of new user onboarding costs has been initiated
ChainCatcher news, the Web3 social protocol Lens Protocol has initiated LIP-6, which aims to standardize the onboarding process for new users and stipulates a standardized fee for all applications built on the Lens platform.
The proposal states that currently, to reduce the potential risk of bot spam within the platform, new users are required to make a one-time payment to create a profile, with the transaction fee set at 8 MATIC or 10 USD. However, various applications such as Hey and Tape charge different fees for their respective onboarding processes. The proposal suggests a 50/50 split of the fees, with 50% of the fees going directly to the Lens treasury to support the broader sustainability of the platform, while the remaining 50% will be allocated to the designated wallets of the respective applications.
