ChainCatcher message, in response to comments from crypto users about Phantom internally tracking wallets and selling them to the team, Phantom co-founder Brandon Millman tweeted: "First of all, we have never and will never sell or share user data with anyone. We have never grouped users' public addresses and then sold or shared them with external teams.

We do use a range of technologies to prevent users from gaming our task features. For example, preventing each device from completing a task more than once. We need some form of sybil protection so that our dapp partners can get real users without giving all their tokens to farmers.

Protecting privacy is very important to us. If users want to completely opt-out of anonymous analytics, they can go to 'Settings' > 'Privacy' > toggle 'Share Anonymous Analytics'."
