Craig Wright's former lawyer revealed in the COPA trial that the email evidence shared by his wife was forged

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, during the legal proceedings in the fourth week that began in London on Monday, Craig Wright's former lawyer stated in court that the emails shared by Wright's wife as evidence in the ongoing trial are "not authentic." The trial is investigating whether Wright invented Bitcoin.

Last week, during cross-examination of the self-proclaimed Bitcoin inventor Wright, emails between Wright and a former representative of Ontier were cited. Following this, Wright's wife, Ramona Watts, shared these emails with Wright's current lawyers at the London law firm Shoosmiths, who then contacted Ontier to confirm their accuracy. Wright claims that Ontier visited the Australian accounting platform MYOB in 2019, and he has emails to prove this. However, Ontier stated that the emails shared by Wright's wife with Shoosmiths were forged. The Shoosmiths law firm disclosed these emails and Ontier's response in court on Monday. Now, these documents will be analyzed by Wright and the plaintiff's lawyers (the Crypto Open Patent Alliance, COPA).

Before the emails were disclosed, Wright's team consulted digital forensics expert Patrick Madden, whose digital forensics report forms the basis of Wright's claim that he is the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
