ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Optimism announced that it will suspend ETH withdrawal services for one hour on February 15, aiming to test its upgraded incident response system. This test will affect ETH withdrawals from Layer 2 to the Ethereum mainnet, but will not impact deposits from the mainnet to Layer 2 or normal transactions on the network. The goal of this upgrade is to enhance the coordinated response capability of different chains within the Optimism ecosystem in the event of security incidents.

It is reported that the new incident response system will support the functionality to pause Ethereum withdrawals on-chain, and a new feature has been added that allows for the pausing of token and NFT withdrawals within the Superchain scope, applicable to participating Optimism and Optimism-based chains. OP Labs announced the system upgrade on January 25, stating that this upgrade is not only to strengthen the security of individual chains but also to leverage the collective security intelligence of the entire Superchain.
