ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Animoca Brands Japan has appointed former Coincheck President Kensuke Amo as Chief Operating Officer. Amo stated, "As a strategic subsidiary of Animoca Brands, Animoca Brands Japan will leverage its assets and network, including its portfolio of over 400 companies, while combining its knowledge and experience in the Japanese Web3 industry and regulatory framework to help Web3 take root in society."

Animoca Brands Japan was established in 2021 to support the global expansion of Japanese intellectual property and content holders in the Web3 space. In June of this year, Animoca received an undisclosed investment from Mitsui & Co., one of Japan's largest trading companies. In November, the company partnered with Cool Cats Group to enter the Japanese anime market.
