NBA star Howard's NFT series has poor sales, and Ava Labs stated that it has no connection to the series
ChainCatcher news, NBA star Dwight Howard announced last week that he will launch a collection of 3,000 NFTs called "Ballers by Dwight Howard" on the Avalanche network, with a minting cost of 2 AVAX per NFT. The debut attracted only a handful of buyers, and one day later, only 10% of the collection was sold.
Less than 24 hours after the collection was minted, Howard announced a major redesign of Ballers. The former All-Star center promised that for every 100 Baller NFTs minted, he would personally send 1 AVAX to 10 different Ballers holders to attract more collectors. Additionally, Howard pledged that for every 100 Ballers NFTs minted, he would purchase one NFT from the popular Dokyoworld project. Subsequently, Howard reduced the total supply of "Ballers" NFTs from 3,000 to 1,500. Howard stated on X that he is "building and developing."
As of the time of publication, 459 Ballers NFTs have been minted, accounting for about 15% of the initial supply. The floor price of the collection has dropped to 1.69 AVAX, below the project's minting price. An Ava Labs spokesperson stated yesterday, "Ava Labs has nothing to do with this matter."
