The Bitcoin Ordinals NFT "Quantum Cat" was sold at Sotheby's auction for over $250,000
ChainCatcher news, the famous auction house Sotheby's announced on Monday that the special edition "Genesis Cat" from the Ordinals NFT project Quantum Cat was sold for over $250,000. The "Genesis Cat" was created by digital artist FAR and received over 50 bids, ultimately selling for 6.31 BTC (which is 12 times the highest estimate).
Previously, Taproot Wizards announced the Quantum Cat series based on Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions, a project consisting of 3,333 images with a creation cost exceeding $66,000 on Bitcoin. The broader auction for the series is scheduled for January 29. It is reported that the Quantum Cat series aims to pay tribute to early code in the Bitcoin network known as concatenate or OP_CAT.
