ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the development companies Delphi Labs and Astroport Foundation have launched an inscription protocol called Asteroid for the Cosmos Hub network.

It is reported that Asteroid uses Cosmos transaction call data to write new tokens into existence, referred to as "CFT-20s". Asteroid contributors released the first CFT-20 token, Asteroids (ROIDS), on Tuesday as a proof of concept. The total supply of the token is 100 million, with each ROIDS token trading at a price of $0.0045, giving it a market cap of $4.5 million.

Delphi Labs emphasized the potential of Asteroid as a "meta-protocol," with applications that go beyond images and tokens.
