Top Ten MEME Projects by On-Chain Popularity

With the temporary cooling of inscriptions, BTC and public chains are experiencing rampant growth, leading to an influx of funds in the crypto space, and at this time, the popularity of MEME has surged.

As the saying goes, "The spring river water warms, the duck knows first," the BOT-type tokens that are strongly correlated with the trading heat of MEME have also begun to skyrocket.

The meme sector actually cooled down for a long time in the second half of the year, with a period where there were basically no MEMEs above 10 million, all of which were quickly sold off, and many project teams were speculated to be Shenzhen flow plates, releasing several tokens a day, with various narratives failing to drive the market.

Until Musk changed his signature to $TROLL, the related concept MEME coins were revived, skyrocketing dozens of times in just a few days, igniting market sentiment.

MEME mainly requires good chip distribution, low market capitalization, and a compelling narrative. So, what else is worth paying attention to?

Highlights of ZUZALU include:

ZUZALU is Vitalik's utopia, a spiritual home for crypto enthusiasts, which seems quite relevant in the current context of the booming L2, public chains, and LSD.

Who is more powerful, Vitalik or Musk? It's hard to define, but Vitalik's mother can ignite a public chain, increasing tenfold, and Vitalik himself is the direct progenitor of SHIB: back in the day, SHIB airdropped tokens to Vitalik, and this proposal attracted attention. Later, Vitalik used the tokens for charity, further drawing interest.

Currently, ZUZALU shows the highest heat, but its market cap is only 6 million, with 3,134 holders.

This project's utopia and Vitalik concept make it personally more interesting to me, and in GATE's latest tweet, it is mentioned alongside TROLL, so it is expected to be listed relatively quickly.

Vitalik will definitely continue to promote this coin, and if he criticizes it, it will truly become the next SHIB treatment. The exposure from attacking SHIB back then was overwhelming.

2. TROLL

Some new investors joined, and with the signature lasting longer than just riding the name, along with the movement of funds, people began to enthusiastically chase it.

In just 8 days, it rose dozens of times, with a market cap exceeding 80 million dollars, and now people expect it to become the next SHIB—though this goal has been placed on countless projects, it mainly serves to get people excited.

Currently, the 24-hour trading volume has reached 28 million dollars, with extremely high heat.

3. PEPE Frog

This one needs no introduction, a classic hot coin.

4. $kriby - Musk's Joke

This also originates from a joke by Musk: CEO IS KIRBY.

It's a MEME that all old-school gamers in Europe and America know: Nintendo's CEO is KIRBY.

This coin was created on January 10, and in just a few days, it doesn't seem as interesting as the rebirth stories of the top two coins—it's up to you whether you prefer the fairness of a new start after the old players dump it or the anticipation of a new player driving the price up.

Currently, it has a market cap of 3 million, with 1,400 holders and low liquidity of 250,000 U. After TROLL became popular, people hoped for a narrative spillover, but I personally think it is still a bit niche.

Unlike the "justice or grandeur" of the utopia above, it is not as enduring as TROLL's name change.

Other concepts riding on Musk's coattails, like a picture or a meme, generally lack vitality, which is not just my opinion but a historical fact that has happened hundreds of times.

5. $BYTE - Musk's AI Robot's Dog

This coin seems to attract a bit more attention from foreigners. It was created very recently, on December 8, 2023.

Musk's AI robot Grok named its dog $Byte during a conversation, so this is also one of Musk's concept coins.

GROK is another relatively hot coin that will be discussed later.

Currently, it has a market cap of 14 million, with 4,200 holders and a pool of 780,000.

6. $MICKEY

This coin has a market cap of 7 million, liquidity of 420,000, and 3,800 holders, created on December 30, 2023.

The Mickey Mouse concept seems to lack any particularly interesting points.

7. $GROK - Musk's AI Robot

The coin named after Musk's AI robot has a market cap of 30 million, with 16,000 holders and liquidity of 1.88 million. It previously surged and then retreated, and the narrative is expected to settle for a while.

Speaking of which, Musk is indeed the father of many coins in the crypto space; there are just too many, and after a while, I become numb. I only bought the utopia—let me lose a bit for Vitalik.

8. $TRUMP - Trump Concept Coin

This one is quite obscure, from the geek circle. It had a wave of hype, but I think the narrative of MEME is very important (though price surges are also important). However, this wave of MEME's rise is primarily characterized by "old coins reborn, leaderless tokens," making it difficult to rely solely on price surges.

In addition, with the rise of TROLL, there are actually similar tokens like $SMILE, which I don't know why they are not on this list. However, that one also originated from Musk's response to a meme, and there are too many of this type, which seems a bit weak.

Overall, I feel that from the perspectives of sentiment and funds, a wave of MEME popularity is likely brewing, and at this time, choosing the ones that are a bit ahead may be a better choice.

An interesting point is that among the top two coins, TROLL is a Musk concept with a market cap of 90 million, while ZUZALU is a Vitalik concept with a market cap of 6 million, and coincidentally, both are old coins reborn.
