In 2023, with the continued prosperity of the BTC and BRC20 ecosystem, the ZKSpace brand has been rebranded to ZKBase, bringing with it a new product plan and vision to enter the Bitcoin ecosystem and explore Layer2 services spanning Bitcoin and Ethereum. At the same time, we launched the ZKS token acceleration deflation plan, destroying 400 million unissued ZKS in December 2023, along with the ongoing platform fee buyback and destruction, reducing the circulating supply of ZKS to less than 600 million. To better carry out product planning and align with the new brand ZKBase, we plan to open the ZKS token 1:1 exchange for the new token ZKB on January 12, 2024, at 16:00 (UTC +8).

Exchange Rules

Holders of ZKS can interact with the exchange smart contract through our provided frontend page to exchange ZKS tokens 1:1 for ZKB tokens. The exchanged ZKS will be transferred to a black hole address for destruction. We have deployed the exchange smart contract on the Ethereum mainnet and zkSync Era, supporting exchanges on both networks. ZKB on zkSync Era can be cross-chained to the Ethereum mainnet via the zkSync Era bridge. Notably, several leading exchanges, including HTX and Bitget, have announced support for the exchange, allowing users to exchange without manually withdrawing tokens. Exchanges will complete the exchange process easily through an automatic snapshot mechanism, providing you with a convenient and efficient user experience.

Step 3: Authorize the transfer permission to the exchange contract

Step 4: Exchange ZKS for ZKB. Note that the ZKS balance displayed at this time is only the balance on the selected chain.

What’s Next

We will launch ZKB Swap, focused on BRC20 token trading, as the first step in exploring BTC Layer2 solutions. ZKB will also upgrade to become the platform token for ZKB Swap, and we will provide ERC20 - BRC20 cross-chain solutions. ZKB holders will enjoy the benefits of both ETH and BTC dual-chain ecosystems, and 100% of the transaction fees generated by the dual-chain platform will continue to be used for the buyback and destruction of ZKB, continuously empowering ZKB holders.
