The chairman of the U.S. SEC voted in favor of the Bitcoin spot ETF
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, during the voting on the Bitcoin spot ETF, SEC Chairman Gensler, Peirce, and Uyeda cast their votes in favor, while Crenshaw and Lizárraga voted against, resulting in a final victory of 3 to 2.
Gary Gensler stated that the SEC lost in court in 2022 for rejecting the Grayscale Bitcoin ETF, which is why they can only approve more than 12 Bitcoin ETFs. However, he also mentioned that the SEC has not approved or recognized Bitcoin, and investors should remain cautious about the risks associated with Bitcoin and products linked to the value of cryptocurrencies.
