The Ethereum Dencun upgrade will go live on the Goerli testnet on January 17
ChainCatcher news, according to the official blog of the Ethereum Foundation, the Dencun network upgrade is scheduled to activate on January 17, 2024, at 14:32 (Beijing time) on the Goerli testnet. If no significant issues are found during this process, the upgrade will continue on the Sepolia and Holesky testnets. Once Dencun runs smoothly on all three testnets, mainnet activation will be arranged.
This upgrade is another significant step following last year's Shapella upgrade, and it will introduce multiple changes. The most notable change is the implementation of EIP-4844, which introduces temporary data blobs (also known as "protodanksharding") aimed at reducing L2 transaction fees.
