Bitfinex: Will cease to offer products and services to certain customers in the UK in accordance with regulatory requirements

ChainCatcher news, Bitfinex announced in its official statement that it will stop providing products and services to certain customers in the UK based on regulatory requirements. Bitfinex had previously informed that UK residents who create accounts on the Bitfinex platform on or after November 1, 2023, will no longer be eligible to apply for personal account verification. In the future, Bitfinex will no longer accept verification applications from UK corporate residents, except for applications that meet the definitions of high-net-worth companies, unincorporated associations, trusts, or other relevant applicable exemptions.

It is reported that starting from January 10, certain existing UK customers will no longer be able to make new deposits, enter into new contracts, or increase existing margin positions, but they can continue to reduce or close positions and withdraw funds from their platform.
