ChainCatcher news, AI startup Perplexity has completed a $73.6 million Series B funding round at a valuation of $520 million, led by IVP. Series A investors NEA, Elad Gil, Nat Friedman, and Databricks, along with new investors such as Nvidia, Jeff Bezos (through the Bezos Expeditions), Balaji Srinivasan, Guillermo Rauch, and Austen Allred also participated. Perplexity's total funding has reached $100 million.
Founded in 2019, Perplexity's CEO Aravind Srinivas interned at DeepMind, Google, and OpenAI, later serving as a research scientist at OpenAI. Perplexity's CTO Denis Yarats has worked at Facebook and Microsoft.
