ChainCatcher news, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has met with representatives from at least 7 financial institutions to discuss the issuance of a Bitcoin spot ETF (exchange-traded fund). The financial institutions discussing the issuance of a Bitcoin spot ETF with the SEC include BlackRock, Grayscale Investments, ARK Investments, and 21Shares, among others. Representatives from the Nasdaq Stock Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange also attended the meetings. It is reported that the SEC will approve multiple companies to issue Bitcoin spot ETFs; however, if the application documents do not meet the requirements by the 29th of this month, they will miss the opportunity to launch Bitcoin spot ETF products in early January next year.
