The Solana ecosystem NFT platform Metaplex launches Metaplex Inscriptions and Engravings

ChainCatcher news, the Solana ecosystem NFT platform Metaplex announced on social media that it has launched Metaplex Inscriptions and Engravings, a new standard for fully on-chain and immutable digital assets on Solana. It is reported that most NFT images or metadata on Solana are currently stored on external services such as Arweave, IPFS, and S3. Metaplex Inscriptions allow the metadata and media content of assets to be fully stored on Solana, eliminating the need for any external trust assumptions and releasing composability for on-chain attributes and smart contracts.

In addition, Metaplex has also launched the first immutable NFTs and the inscriptions Engravings. Metaplex stated that regardless of whether the original program is immutable, the Engraver adds an extra layer of security to prevent any changes to the Engraved NFTs. Both programs have been sent to the development network, allowing users to mint new NFTs and convert existing NFTs, with inscriptions numbered on a first-come, first-served basis.
