Tether froze 161 Ethereum wallets yesterday, with 11 wallets holding over 3.5 million USDT
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block citing Etherscan data, Tether froze 161 Ethereum wallets yesterday, of which 150 wallets currently do not hold USDT, and it is unknown whether they ever held USDT and in what quantity.
Among them, 11 wallets hold over 3.5 million USDT, with one address holding 3.4 million. ZachXBT has linked this address to the recent hacking attack on Stake. There are also two addresses each holding about 20,000 USDT, a third address holding nearly 60,000 USDT, and one wallet holding 16 cents of USDT.
ChainCatcher previously reported that stablecoin issuer Tether announced the launch of a new voluntary wallet freezing policy aimed at combating activities related to individuals sanctioned under the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. Tether will also provide sanction controls on wallets implemented on its platform in the secondary market.
