Ethereum Conference: Plans to activate Dencun in January, expected to set Goerli fork date early next year

ChainCatcher message, Ethereum core developer timbeiko.eth summarized the 176th ACDE meeting on social media. Developers discussed the status of Dencun, the timeline for the testnet, and how to plan for the upcoming network upgrades.

According to the meeting discussions, Devnet #12 was launched last week, and almost all clients are running on it. Bugs were found and fixed in several clients, including Reth and Lighthouse. Meanwhile, the development team is ready to fork the testnet and plans to conduct a major Goerli shadow fork in the coming weeks. Developers unanimously agreed that if things go smoothly, they will set the Goerli fork date for early 2024, aiming to activate Dencun on the network in January.

Additionally, the last ACDE meeting of 2023 will be held on December 21 at 22:00 Beijing time.
