ZachXBT: MEV engineer PokerBrat defrauded over $1.2 million under the guise of the "MEV bot project."
ChainCatcher news, on-chain analyst ZachXBT tweeted that MEV engineer PokerBrat raised at least $1.2 million from 11 people earlier this year for various MEV bots (independent of Rampage) and claimed that the bots would be operational soon. However, after initially agreeing to return the funds due to countless delays in release, PokerBrat made various excuses, including COVID-19, health issues, redemption problems, extortion, and family issues.
ZachXBT stated that PokerBrat pleaded guilty in 2002 to defrauding investors of $4 million (for purchasing cars and gambling) and was sentenced to 3 years in prison for fraud after stealing funds from more than 10 victims in Colorado in 2007.
