ChainCatcher news, Berkshire Hathaway announced that Charlie Munger, Buffett's long-time partner and Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, passed away peacefully on Tuesday local time at a hospital in California, at the age of 99, just one month shy of his 100th birthday.

In a statement, Buffett said that without Charlie Munger's inspiration, wisdom, and involvement, Berkshire Hathaway would not have reached its current status.

Charlie Munger was a critic of Bitcoin and had repeatedly expressed criticisms of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin during his lifetime. In February of this year, he published a commentary in the Wall Street Journal titled "Why the U.S. Should Ban Cryptocurrency?", calling for the U.S. to follow China's lead in implementing regulatory policies to ban cryptocurrencies.
