Kazakhstan has banned local IP access to the Coinbase website
ChainCatcher news, according to local news media Kursiv, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan has officially confirmed the blocking of the Coinbase website in the country.
Since at least September, Kazakh authorities have been preventing local IPs from accessing Coinbase. The country's Ministry of Digital Development has accused Coinbase of violating the Digital Assets Law.
It is reported that the Digital Assets Law, enacted in February 2023, prohibits the issuance and trading of digital currencies as well as cryptocurrency trading businesses without state permission.
