The 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival will be held in April 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
The "2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival," co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Lab and HashKey Group, and organized by W3 ME, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre 3FG from April 6 to 9, 2024.
On November 3, Xiao Feng, Chairman of Wanxiang Blockchain and Chairman & CEO of HashKey Group, officially announced at Hong Kong Fintech Week that the "2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival," co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Lab and HashKey Group, and organized by W3 ME, will be held from April 6 to 9, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre 3FG.
The first Hong Kong Web3 Carnival was held from April 12 to 15, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As one of the largest Web3 events globally, the carnival featured nearly 200 surrounding activities, with over 50,000 participants in total, attracting more than 300 influential speakers and over 100 popular projects, being hailed as a milestone event in the history of Web3 development in Hong Kong.
In recent years, the development of Web3 in Hong Kong has accelerated rapidly. From the release of the "Policy Declaration on the Development of Virtual Assets in Hong Kong" in 2020 to HashKey Exchange becoming the first officially licensed virtual asset service provider, Hong Kong is steadfastly aiming to "become an international science and technology innovation center," fully promoting the establishment of Web3 in the region.
Representatives from the Hong Kong government and official institutions, including Financial Secretary Paul Chan, Legislative Council member (Technology and Innovation) Kenneth Fok, Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Technology Mandy Cheung, Vice President of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Fanny Zhang, Chairman of Cyberport Chan Siu Ming, Assistant Chief Executive (Monetary Management) of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chan Ka Chi (then), Acting Head of the Intermediaries Division of the Securities and Futures Commission (Chairman of the Fintech Advisory Group) Choi Chung Fai, CEO of Cyberport Simon Chan, Fintech Director of Invest Hong Kong Liang Hanqing, and Director of STP Platform of Hong Kong Science Park Ho Lu Ming made a collective appearance at the first Web3 Carnival, with some serving as speakers to deeply analyze Hong Kong's talent cultivation and support policies for Web3 enterprises, helping projects considering settling in Hong Kong clarify the opportunities and risks involved.
After more than a decade of accumulation, blockchain is transitioning from the construction phase of infrastructure to a new phase of large-scale application, with Web3 being the focal point of blockchain applications.
