ChainCatcher news, Circle announced that the cross-chain transfer protocol CCTP has been launched on the Base mainnet and is natively supported in the Base Bridge. It enables secure USDC transfers between blockchains through a local burn and mint process, allowing developers and users to transfer USDC from Ethereum and other networks to the Base blockchain without permission.
As of now, CCTP supports the transfer of USDC across 20 independent networks and can reduce withdrawal delays associated with bridging assets.
